KTF to MX GENIO

CAD together with KeyTERRA-FIRMA provides a good input environment for survey data. 3D data represented as 3D Polylines and KTF level blocks may be input by the digitising routines in the base module or from Survey datalogger/Total Station/GPS equipment. Our coding is very similar to MX in many respects using a four character alpha-numeric system. The first stage of outputting data to a MOSS GENIO file is the selection of appropriate drawing entities and the creation of a co-ordinate file (.txt file type). Note that most data should be represented as 3D Polylines on appropriate layers (as this will generate the codes in typical use) with point data ("P" coded points in MX terms) represented as KTF blocks with our 3 attributes so that level and code attributes are output to file.

The first stage is to extract Polyline and point data to .txt files using menu items File utilities, .txt Co-ordinates files, Output from Polylines and Output from block Attributes respectively.
