KTF includes a very rich feature set for creating, drawing and designing on sections. There are four ways of creating sections :-

1.From a ground model.

2.From 3D drawing entities in menu item Create sections from Drawing entities.

3.From menu items within Design, Strings

4.Starting with level, code, chainage and offset values e.g. road cross sections in menu item Sections, Sections from level data.

Drawing sections is a separate operation when the section(s) have been created. Presentation of section drawings is user defined and any KTF section may be moved around the drawing for presentation purposes but must not have the CAD Rotate or Scale commands applied to it. Sections are always drawn with a scale of 1:1 horizontally in model space and may have a vertical exaggeration or be drawn at natural scale. Sections are not just drawn to look good but to provide the basis for vertical design, enquiry and enhancement functions.
