Special Chainages

Purpose

To add onto an existing section additional points such as boundaries, road alignments, hedge lines, trees or drainage features. Special chainages are also used to  to locate additional cross sections These locations must have been identified and written to file by one of these menu items :-

Ground Modelling, Create section   Special chainages stored in the .sek file.  

Design, Horizontal, Extract geometry   Special chainages stored in the .lsc file

 

Operation

Pick the datum line of existing section. Return to input data from a .sek file or enter "L" if reading chainages from an .lsc file where there will be no level values. If working from a .sek file select the file (the same file used to draw the section).

The dialogue lists the special chainages – delete any lines not required (typically the start and end) and add to the section on appropriate boxes and lines as assigned by Line settings.
